Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

The Senior Staff Engineer, Electrical Design develops new electrical systems and circuits for various applications. Research system ideas and capture them in schematics and system specifications, test, simulate, validate and qualify systems, and provide support throughout manufacturing. Works in cross-functional teams with designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust, high-quality product development and to enhance designs with feedback from manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement technical solutions for complex projects; participate in project planning and scheduling.
• Act as a global SME providing technical leadership and direction to a global team of engineers.
• Take responsibility for non-technical elements of projects (people, financials, etc.).
• Review and interpret customer specifications and may act as primary customer contact.
• Analyze trade-offs in complex systems, recommend solutions and develop deployment strategies and plans.
• Lead deployment of strategic technologies/programs and coordinate global deployment efforts.
• Manage relationships with key vendors/partners and liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors and internal teams.
• Create schematics, bills of material, diagrams and drawings; recommend modifications and provide support throughout manufacturing of designed electrical systems.
• Analyse and interpret data and information; create reports and documentation.
• Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations and solve complex technical problems.

• Typical experience: 11 to 14 years.
• Typical education: Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Educational requirements may vary by geography.

Additional Information

• Work performed in a normal office environment with extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse or calculator) are frequently required.
• Occasional travel may be required.
