Duty Engineer

About the Role

Install, maintain, perform preventative maintenance on, and recommend replacement of tools, appliances, and equipment; complete life safety checks and respond to guest repair requests. Assist management with supervisory duties and ensure compliance with safety and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances and equipment.
• Calibrate controls, gauges, meters and other instruments.
• Identify, locate and operate shut-off valves.
• Order, mark and stock parts and supplies; maintain inventory and purchase orders log.
• Inspect tools, equipment and machines; visually inspect for defects or issues.
• Enter and locate work-related information using computers.
• Operate power lift equipment.
• Complete life safety checklist, including fire-pump run test and generator run test; inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
• Assist in development of disaster response protocols.
• Respond to and attend guest repair requests and assist individuals with disabilities as needed.
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating and coaching employees.
• Follow company safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents or injuries; complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Identify, recommend and help implement improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, safety and/or cost-savings.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical, Trade or Vocational School degree preferred.
• Related work experience: At least 2 years of related experience.
• Supervisory experience: At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• License or Certification: None required.
• Physical requirements: reach overhead and below the knees (bending, twisting, pulling, stooping); move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance; grasp, turn and manipulate objects of varying size and weight; stand, sit or walk for extended periods; move up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
