Remote Hands Technician

Purpose:

• Provide on-site physical support services for data center clients, executing tasks as directed by remote IT teams or NOC while ensuring security and proper handling of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute smart hands tasks as requested by clients or NOC
• Perform equipment installations, moves, and decommissioning
• Cable management and structured cabling support
• Physical verification of equipment status and LED indicators
• Power cycling and basic troubleshooting of IT equipment
• Escort vendors and contractors within data center
• Conduct physical inventory and asset verification
• Package and ship equipment as required
• Maintain accurate documentation of all activities
• Follow change management and approval processes
• Ensure compliance with security and safety procedures
• Respond to urgent requests on 24/7 basis
• Report equipment issues and environmental concerns
• Support access control and security protocols

Job Specification

Education:

• Diploma or Certificate in IT, Electronics, or related technical field
• High school with relevant experience considered

Experience:

• Minimum 1-2 years in technical support or data center operations
• Experience handling IT equipment and structured cabling
• Customer-facing role experience preferred

Skills & Competencies:

• Basic understanding of IT hardware and network equipment
• Careful handling of sensitive equipment
• Good communication and follow-instruction abilities
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Physical ability to lift equipment and work in raised floors
• Reliability and punctuality for shift work
• Security-conscious with integrity

Certifications (Preferred):

• Basic IT certification (CompTIA A+ or equivalent)
• Data center technician training

Language:

• Fluent in Thai; working English for documentation
