Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for delivery of projects from initial design, through construction to final review.
- Act as the point of contact for the client team on day-to-day project matters.
- Lead large project design teams and oversee coordination of multi-disciplinary engineers, designers and drafters (mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, security, architectural and ICT).
- Work collaboratively with local and regional design disciplines to ensure overall design integrity.
- Lead production of design documentation including detailed drawings, specifications, design reports, calculations, BIM models and other technical documents.
- Chair internal and external design meetings.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, quality assurance, client feedback and communicate changes or modifications effectively.
- Assist in workload management, resource forecasting and preparation of proposal documentation.
- Review and ensure compliance of drawings, reports, specifications, surveys, access and prepare appraisals.
- Build and maintain effective client relationships and identify potential business opportunities.
- Apply construction/engineering project management principles to plan and deliver infrastructure projects of varying complexity.
- Manage work programmes to meet client expectations, timeframes and specifications, engaging multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
- Support multiple concurrent projects across the project lifecycle including planning, design verification, tendering, contract administration, financial management, scheduling and risk management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least 10 years’ relevant experience in buildings mechanical or electrical design, installation, testing and commissioning, and leading delivery of multi-disciplinary projects in commercial and industrial buildings. Data centre experience preferred.
- Strong project management skills with ability to lead large teams on technical delivery.
- Demonstrated intermediate to advanced knowledge of relevant engineering codes, standards and practices.
- Organised approach with ability to accept increased responsibility and produce accurate, detailed work.
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
Skills / Technical Skills
- High level of computer literacy; exposure to BIM / Revit is highly desired.
- Experience with digital tools such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Naviswork, BIM360 and driving BIM processes.
- Strong ability to navigate 3D BIM models to review multi-disciplinary design, identify issues, provide solutions and direct the design team to resolve them.
- Advanced problem-solving skills through investigation and analysis.
