R&D Mechanical Design Engineer / Senior Engineer – Custom Design Business Unit (CDBU)

About the Role

Mechanical design engineer in Delta Electronics Thailand, RD Center (Samutprakarn) for the Custom Design Business Unit (CDBU). Onsite role. Working hours: 7:40 - 17:25 (Mon - Fri).

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical and electromechanical parts and select appropriate standard parts for server, networking and telecommunication products.
• Define material structures, custom part specifications, product assembly and advise on thermal and acoustic noise planning.
• Support mechanical-related activities including mechanical design, design verification tests, reliability test support, design reviews, customer calls, factory DFM and supplier DFM reviews, and factory build support.
• Perform basic structure analysis and verification.
• Investigate product reliability failures, perform root-cause analysis and propose solutions.
• Communicate across functions, define guidelines and maintain achievement of targets.
• Prepare and maintain BOM, design documents, and perform design & cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Experience in die casting part design and casting process for aluminum alloy.
• Experience in metal part design, stamping and deep drawing processes for steel and aluminum alloy.
• Experience in plastic part design and injection molding processes.
• Experience in heat transfer design approaches for power electronic devices or related products.
• Experience with IP product design is a plus.

Skills

• Proficient with 3D and 2D CAD programs (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Able to use CAE functions (interference, mechanism and tolerance analysis for assembly features).
• Understand GD&T for design, manufacturing and inspection.
• Knowledge of basic thermal and acoustic noise theory and technical issue analysis/validation.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; verbal and written English required.
• Willingness and ability to travel overseas (Europe, China).
