Engineering Supervisor

About the Role

Install, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment; calibrate controls, gauges and meters; identify and operate shut-off valves; maintain parts inventory and purchase order logs; complete life safety checks including fire-pump and generator run tests; inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems; respond to guest repair requests; assist in development of disaster response protocols; and supervise, train and coach engineering team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, preventative maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment, tools and machines.
• Calibrate controls, gauges and meters and visually inspect tools, equipment and machines.
• Identify, locate and operate shut-off valves and operate power lift and other required equipment.
• Order, mark, stock parts and supplies; maintain inventory and purchase order logs and enter work-related information using computers.
• Complete life safety checklist, including fire-pump and generator run tests; inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
• Assist in development and implementation of disaster response protocols and safety procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents or injuries.
• Respond to and attend guest repair requests; welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards and assist individuals with disabilities.
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating and coaching employees.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, ensure adherence to quality expectations and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, safety and cost-savings.
• Perform physical tasks including reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects up to 50 pounds, standing/walking for extended periods and moving up and down stairs or service ramps.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical, trade, or vocational school degree preferred.
• Related work experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
• Supervisory experience: At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• License or Certification: None specified; complete required safety training and certifications.
