Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

IBM Digital Talent for Business (IBMDT) is seeking a Senior Software Developer with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot to build and maintain scalable enterprise applications for banking and financial services. Onsite, full-time.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Contribute to system and application architecture design for enterprise solutions.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs for internal and external integration.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and adherence to standards.
• Work closely with architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver technical solutions aligned with banking requirements.
• Support system design discussions and technical decision-making.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Improve existing systems through refactoring and performance optimization.
• Ensure applications meet security, reliability, and scalability standards.
• Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum development environment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Java and Spring Boot development.
• Solid background in system design and application architecture.
• Experience working in banking, financial services, or enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Proven experience in code review and enforcing best practices.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, and design patterns.
• Experience working in Agile teams.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
