Commodity Manager

About the Role

Develop and participate in Global team of Commodity Managers to ensure excellence. Drive technical excellence within the commodity Management Team by developing tools, metrics and strategies that meet the business needs. Work is onsite; role based in Thailand (Bangkok, Chonburi, or Rayong areas).

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and measure a Regional Business plan that meets the needs of our business sectors including commodity strategies, supply base development, regional infrastructure and price management.
• Demonstrate expertise in assigned commodities and be competent in all aspects of supply chain management including commodities not directly assigned.
• Develop a Regional Commodity infrastructure that supports Jabil’s business and growth plans.
• Develop, monitor and implement Regional Commodity Strategies.
• Develop the supply base to exceed goals and objectives of Jabil and the supply chain management team.
• Market Jabil’s Supply Chain Management expertise internally and externally.
• Define, develop and implement supply chain models to meet business needs.
• Analyze market conditions and implement supply chain strategies to assure best in class supply and price competition.
• Maximize purchase leverage for best total cost of ownership.
• Influence current and potential new customers and develop effective relationships with Business Unit Management to ensure SCM involvement in new business opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.
• Assure procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant and identify and implement best in class practices and processes.
• Demonstrate commitment to customer service by solving problems quickly and making customer issues a priority.
• Establish new measurement systems where appropriate and ensure efficient exchange of knowledge and information within Jabil.
• Ensure 100% adherence to company policies and procedures including Health and Safety and Quality, handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately, and comply with company security policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred; 5 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in plastics injection molded parts and metal commodities such as metal stamping, metal fabrication, sheet metal (Plastics/Metal Sourcing).
• Proficiency in English; fluent in Mandarin is an added advantage.
• Work based in Thailand (Bangkok, Chonburi, or Rayong areas).
