Department Manager - Software QA

About the Role

Department Manager - Quality Assurance establishes suitable quality standards at each stage of the development process and evaluates suitability of matrices to assess quality. He/She determines types and variations of quality tests to fulfil business needs and requirements, ensures testing processes comply with applicable regulatory and relevant quality testing requirements, synthesizes product performance against user feedback to prioritize quality measures for testing, and manages the conduct of quality tests. Recommends new technologies, tools and infrastructures, practices, and changes to processes, and guides the automation of quality testing.

Responsibilities

• Determine quality standards at each stage of the development process and synthesize user requirements to define suitable standards for end products
• Evaluate suitability of quality matrices and oversee development of user guides on quality standards
• Define types and variations of quality tests for each phase of the product lifecycle to meet business needs and assess test objectives for feasibility and relevancy
• Review and ensure quality testing processes comply with regulatory and other relevant requirements
• Manage conduct of quality tests across phases under different operational and usage conditions and validate conditions where performance drops
• Provide technical inputs on quality gaps to development teams and develop quality systems to mitigate or enable early detection of failures
• Develop reports documenting quality testing outcomes and manage resolution of quality issues to achieve standards in an Agile environment
• Recommend new technologies, tools, infrastructures, practices and process changes; guide development and evaluation of automated test cases and testing tools
• Ensure applicable security tests are conducted with relevant functional teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related IT/QA/testing field
• At least 7-10 years' experience in related field
• Knowledge of Robot Framework (using Python)
• Knowledge of software version control systems and code review workflows
• Experience working in Agile Scrum projects and familiarity with rapid product development techniques (Design sprints, Story mapping, etc.)
• Experience in developing automation testing scripts; mobile testing experience preferred
• Fluent English communication skills
