How can you make a difference?
Positioned within the Acquisition unit of Individual Giving, the Fund-Raising Officer (Acquisition) plays a vital role in executing UNICEF’s strategy to expand its donor base and drive sustainable revenue growth. In line with the PSFR team's strategic focus on funnel-based marketing and audience segmentation, this role supports the development and execution of targeted acquisition campaigns—especially across digital channels, which are identified as key growth drivers. By managing agency relationships, conducting market research, and optimizing lead generation and conversion, the incumbent ensures that acquisition efforts are data-informed and audience-centric. Their collaboration with the marketing team and close monitoring of campaign performance directly contribute to the team’s broader goals of enhancing donor engagement and achieving ambitious fundraising targets under the 2026–2030 strategy.
Under the Acquisition unit of Individual Giving on the PSFR team, the Fund-Raising Officer (Acquisition) provides support in developing and executing campaigns to attract and acquire new donors. Responsibilities include agency management, market research, campaign planning, lead generation, and conversion optimization. This role is important in driving UNICEF's growth, enhancing donor Acquisition and increasing donations. The incumbent will plan and execute donor acquisition campaigns, monitor campaign performance, research and identify target audiences, and collaborate with the marketing team on acquisition efforts.
Major responsibilities:
Donor Acquisition Strategy Support and Campaign Coordination for Execution
- Contribute to the development of donor acquisition strategies on new donor acquisition that align with UNICEF’s mission and goals.
- Assist in planning and coordinating to execute donor acquisition campaigns to engage potential donors effectively.
- Coordinate to execute testing plans to build insights and optimize campaigns.
Campaign Performance Monitoring and Donor Research
- Monitor campaign performance to evaluate the effectiveness of acquisition strategies against KPIs and targets.
- Track campaign budgets (including media spend).
- Research and identify potential target audiences to expand UNICEF's donor base.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with the marketing team and Individual Giving team to align donor acquisition efforts with broader marketing strategies, including brand and retention initiatives.
- As required, manage relationships and projects with external agencies (such as creative and fundraising agencies).
Other Responsibilities
- Support the development of investment plans and business cases as required.
- Provide technical expertise in donor acquisition tools and techniques.
Qualifications

Minimum requirements:
- Education: A first level university degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field is required.
- Work Experience: A minimum of one year of progressively responsible work experience in fundraising, with a focus on donor acquisition, and a proven track record of successful donor acquisition initiatives is required.
- Skills: Fundraising, Donor acquisition, Customer acquisition, Agency management, Knowledge of at least three key acquisition channels – DRTV, Paid Digital, Email, Face-to-Face, Telemarketing, Out-of-Home, Direct Mail – with Digital being essential, Performance optimization for fund raising and sales campaigns
- Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Thai is required (written and spoken). (A valid TOEIC score of at least 855: Listening and Reading section or an equivalent score from any other globally recognized standard tests, is required)
Desirables:
- Experience in a similar industry, mission-driven or customer acquisition fields e.g. commercial marketing, digital advertising, subscription models, customer acquisition, campaign management, performance marketing is an asset.
- Additional training in a related field is an asset.
- International fundraising, managerial experience, cross-sector partnerships, fundraising strategy, data-driven acquisition.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is desirable
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
