HSE Manager - Data Center

Responsibilities

• Remain responsible for the organisation's HSE goals and targets and work with business heads and stakeholders to implement them.
• Plan and implement strategic objectives to improve overall HSE performance across projects and the business.
• Perform go/no-go assessments for upcoming projects and highlight HSE risks.
• Review client HSE expectations received in RFPs and confirm scope of deliverable services.
• Support senior leadership on HSE technical issues and advise on regulatory requirements and amendments.
• Work with regional business heads and regional HSE leads to plan, hire, develop and deploy HSE personnel for projects.
• Review HSE dashboards, identify critical projects requiring support/intervention, and initiate/escale actions as needed.
• Ensure Tier I, II & III audits are conducted and findings are actioned; verify periodic inspections, audits and reviews are carried out and issues addressed.
• Handle client escalations related to HSE issues and liaise with contractors and project teams to ensure timely attention.
• Lead and investigate serious/significant incidents, perform root cause analysis, disseminate learnings and initiate actions to prevent recurrence.
• Drive continual improvement programmes and implement tangible initiatives to improve organisational HSE performance.
• Prepare monthly reports on agreed HSE metrics, highlighting opportunities for improvement and corrective actions, and submit necessary reports to senior management.
• Identify training needs for HSE personnel and work with stakeholders to ensure training is delivered.
• Conduct scheduled periodic audits and site inspections and advise project management and regional HSE teams on appropriate actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in HSE roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing HSE strategies across multiple projects and regions.
• Experience in client-facing roles, handling escalations and managing stakeholder expectations.
• Familiarity with BSI audits and ISO certification processes.
• Strong background in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Deep understanding of local and international HSE regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to interpret client HSE requirements and align them with organisational capabilities.
• Proficiency with HSE dashboards, data analytics and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and go/no-go decision frameworks.
