Director of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE Director)

About the Company

Our client, a leading company in the FMCG sector, is seeking a visionary Director of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE Director) to establish and drive a world-class safety culture across all manufacturing plants, supply chain operations, and corporate functions. This role is pivotal in shaping safety strategies, ensuring compliance, and safeguarding the well-being of employees while supporting business growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety vision, strategies, and policies aligned with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Set long-term safety goals, performance metrics and continuous improvement plans; monitor KPIs including LTIR, TRIR, near-miss reporting and audit results.
• Advise executive leadership and the Board on safety performance and risk management.
• Oversee safety programs across multiple sites including manufacturing plants, logistics operations and offices; implement advanced safety systems, risk assessments and digital reporting tools.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action plans; establish processes for hazard identification, risk mitigation and employee health & wellness.
• Lead, coach and develop safety managers and site safety teams; build capabilities through training, awareness campaigns and leadership development to foster a proactive safety culture.
• Ensure strict compliance with Thai and international safety standards (ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, HACCP, GMP) and conduct safety audits, risk assessments and emergency preparedness drills.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, HR and Supply Chain for safety integration; collaborate with external agencies, regulators and industry associations and support new product launches, plant expansions and capital projects with safety frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or related fields.
• 15+ years of experience in safety leadership within FMCG, food manufacturing or industrial sectors, with at least 5 years at a senior executive level.
• Proven track record in establishing and transforming safety cultures in large, multi-site organizations and experience in multi-site operations management.
• Deep knowledge of Thai safety regulations and global standards (ISO 45001, OHSAS, HACCP, GMP).
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in Thai and English, both written and spoken.
