Senior Manager, Pricing Actuary

Responsibilities

• Lead the health pricing function, set pricing strategy and provide technical direction to ensure products are commercially competitive and financially sound.
• Oversee actuarial analysis, pricing models, and assumption setting for health products, ensuring robust technical review and sound recommendations.
• Work closely with product, underwriting, claims, finance, distribution and other stakeholders to align pricing recommendations, product design and implementation plans.
• Monitor portfolio performance, market developments, competitor activities and regulatory changes to identify risks, opportunities and required pricing or product actions.
• Lead engagement with the OIC on pricing and product-related queries, provide technical explanations and support regulatory filings and compliance.
• Manage pricing governance and support product approval processes, including preparation of pricing justifications and review materials for internal committees and regulators.
• Lead, coach and develop junior team members, provide technical review, work prioritization and support stakeholder communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
• ASA or continuing professional education through passing actuarial exams is preferred.
• Minimum 7–8 years of experience in health insurance pricing or related actuarial field.
• Proficiency in actuarial software and tools (e.g., SQL, Prophet, Excel, AI).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of health insurance regulations and market dynamics.

• Strong strategic and analytical mindset; translate complex health pricing issues into clear business insights and practical recommendations.
• Deep technical expertise in actuarial modeling, assumption setting and product design with sound commercial and regulatory judgment.
• Proven people management and team leadership capability including coaching and developing junior staff.
• High level of ownership, attention to detail, governance focus and timely delivery.
• Confidence engaging with regulators (OIC) and guiding the team on compliance-related matters.
