Purpose

Develop winning fragrances in areas of specialization. Work internally with commercial and development teams to build market and consumer understanding. Represent Givaudan with key clients. Actively support global and regional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Rework formulas chosen from Fragrance Gallery to be submitted on L&R briefs, targeting highest efficiency with a minimum of modifications.
• Independently and collaboratively adapt winning fragrance themes for various bases, price points and norms, linking with the originating perfumer where needed.
• Contribute to proactively filling olfactive gaps in the Gallery (e.g., market types) in support of Gallery managers and category teams.
• Support category teams of perfumers, development and sales on long-tail L&R customers when needed.
• Support Sales, Marketing and Development with customer interactions, submissions, rationale and storytelling.

Qualifications

• University degree preferred (science/chemistry or other suitable field of study).
• Verbal and written command of English; proficiency in one or more additional languages is an asset.
• Basic proficiency using common PC applications.
• Successful and consistent career at a Perfumer II level with minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Perfumer and a strong track record of wins in areas of specialization.
• Considered as an ingredient and formulation expert in given area(s) of specialization or equivalent background.

Technical Skills

• Fragrance creation, ingredients and formulation: ability to develop, manage and enrich a portfolio of winning themes and perfumes from the Gallery.
• Sound knowledge of specialties, captives and relevant technologies, and ability to apply fragrance creations to other categories.

Systems, Processes, RAPS/Legislation

• Masters all relevant systems and processes and has a sound knowledge of RAPS and the legislative framework.

Business Skills

• Competent at managing own project portfolio, setting priorities and managing resources involved in projects.
• Works effectively with all departments in the development process on a regional and global level and develops the ability to work collaboratively in the modification process (P2P).
• Demonstrates solid knowledge of F&F industry and good understanding of market dynamics across multiple geographies.
