Safety Engineer

About the Role

Responsible for driving Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives in a heavy industry environment by ensuring legal compliance, improving workplace safety, reducing risks, and supporting continuous improvement across operations.

You will work closely with hiring supervisor and operation team to ensure effective support for safety-related activities and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Review and update law and other regulations, monitor and enforce compliance with applicable legal requirements, regulations and corporate EH&S standards to drive best practices
• Monitor new legislation related to Environmental, Health and Safety and assess facility changes as necessary
• Provide guidance and technical support to management regarding safety issues
• Follow company policy and promote company activities to achieve company objectives
• Implement performance standards, procedures and KPIs that allow accurate measurement of performance
• Develop and continuously improve emergency and disaster plans
• Identify, investigate, report and provide guidance on root causes of incidents (RCA)
• Develop and provide guidance for chemical management and control in the company
• Subcontractor management and control
• Develop and manage safety training programs for employees
• Conduct employee and subcontractor management programs and ensure regulation compliance related to health and safety
• Apply PBM culture to align with EH&S jobs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related fields
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Safety, Health and Environmental positions at a safety professional level
• Excellent knowledge of Thai occupational health and safety regulations
• Good English and Thai comprehension and communication skills
• Computer literacy in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proactive, self-motivated, fast learning, service mind, able to work as a team and under pressure in a multinational working environment
