Customs Controller

About the Role

DHL Supply Chain — Customs Controller ensuring operations comply with the Global Customs Compliance Manual (GCCM) and local laws, and providing guidance and support to operations and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all operations have a clear understanding of and comply with the Global Customs Compliance Manual (GCCM) and local laws and regulations, reducing the risk of penalties and fines.
• Enhance operational efficiency by providing guidance and support to all operations in streamlining customs processes in accordance with GCCM and national legal requirements.
• Foster a culture of compliance across the organization, ensuring that all teams are aligned with regulatory obligations and best practices.
• Collaborate with internal operations teams to ensure understanding and compliance with customs regulations and trade standards.
• Serve as a point of contact for external stakeholders, including customs authorities and regulatory bodies, to address compliance-related inquiries.
• Provide timely updates and guidance to stakeholders on changes in customs regulations and compliance requirements.
• Facilitate effective communication between operations and stakeholders to enhance compliance awareness and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Additional qualifications or certifications in customs management or trade compliance (e.g., Certified Customs Specialist, Certified Export Specialist) are a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in customs management or trade compliance.
• Experience working in a logistics or supply chain environment is preferred.
• Proven track record of managing compliance processes and interacting with customs authorities.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in managing compliance processes.
• Proficiency both in Thai and English, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate with global stakeholders.
