Sourcing Manager (APAC)

About the Role

This role is responsible for developing and executing regional sourcing strategies across several categories such as machining, fabrication, electronics, contract manufacturing and mechanical parts, as well as critical operational services within the APAC region.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute APAC sourcing strategies for assigned categories (machining, fabrication, electronics, contract manufacturing, mechanical parts and operational services).
• Lead regional sourcing initiatives, supplier selection, commercial negotiations and deliver annual cost productivity targets while safeguarding service reliability and operational performance.
• Monitor commodity trends, freight volatility and regional supply-demand dynamics; provide market intelligence on pulp and paper industry developments in APAC.
• Support all sites globally with resourcing project initiatives and align with Global Sourcing on category strategy, supplier consolidation, benchmarking and implementation of global best practices.
• Collaborate with the Supply Quality Engineer to establish and enforce supplier qualification, audit and performance management frameworks; jointly conduct supplier audits and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Ensure suppliers meet technical specifications, regulatory standards and internal compliance; drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with suppliers and integrate supplier scorecards covering quality, delivery, cost, sustainability and risk metrics.
• Proactively identify and mitigate supply risks including material availability, export controls, logistics constraints and geopolitical exposure; develop dual-source and contingency strategies and align with manufacturing sites to prevent production disruption.
• Identify, qualify and manage suppliers and service providers across APAC; conduct regular business reviews and drive long-term partnership models with critical mills, converters and service providers.
• Partner with Sales, Operations and Product Teams to support NPI or reformulation projects with alternative material sourcing and ensure alignment across functions in a global, matrixed organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of strategic sourcing/procurement experience, preferably within an industrial manufacturing environment and managing regional supplier portfolios within APAC markets.
• Advanced commercial negotiation capability and contract management skills; proven success negotiating supplier agreements and delivering cost savings.
• High governance awareness and risk discipline; ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed organization.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to work independently and in a team environment and manage multiple projects under pressure.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and spend analysis tools.
