About the Role

Job Location: Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort. You will manage the Engineering department to ensure efficient operation of all hotel facilities, including fire and life safety systems. Responsibilities include planning and managing preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, new projects, extensions and renovations, preparing engineering budgets, contributing to strategic and operational plans, monitoring energy usage and implementing energy-saving initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for resort systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, pools, generators and energy systems.
• Ensure equipment and infrastructure meet safety, regulatory and brand standards.
• Respond promptly to guest service requests related to engineering and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Lead and supervise technicians, painters, plumbers and general maintenance staff; develop duty rosters, delegate tasks and manage work orders.
• Conduct training, coaching and performance assessments for the engineering team.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, codes and brand policies on health, safety and fire prevention; support emergency response procedures, fire drills and safety audits.
• Maintain accurate documentation and logs such as checklists, permits and asset history.
• Assist in implementing energy-saving strategies and monitor utilities usage to identify efficiency opportunities.
• Support annual maintenance budgeting, capital expenditure forecasts, procurement and inventory control of maintenance supplies and spare parts.
• Prepare reports and updates for the Director of Engineering on maintenance activities, costs and project progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Civil) or equivalent technical training.
• Minimum 5–7 years engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within luxury hospitality.
• Proven experience with resort/hotel engineering systems (HVAC, BMS, kitchen, laundry, pools, lifts).
• Familiarity with property management systems and preventive maintenance software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic project planning tools.
• English proficiency required.
