Lead Electrical Engineer, Data Center

About the Role

At Jacobs we are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Data Centre team in our Bangkok (Thailand) Office. This role focuses on delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions for mission-critical facilities across Thailand and the Asia-Pacific region. Work arrangement: hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review detailed electrical design calculations and prepare technical specifications, reports and functional descriptions for electrical systems.
• Develop sustainable and energy-efficient electrical solutions for data centres and coordinate integrated design with MEP, structural and architectural teams.
• Utilise BIM and 3D modelling tools for design development and coordination.
• Participate in client meetings, design reviews, technical workshops and support proposal preparation, bids and technical presentations.
• Conduct regular site inspections during construction to verify compliance with design specifications and quality standards; respond to RFIs, review shop drawings and resolve technical issues.
• Assist in commissioning and testing of electrical systems to ensure operational readiness.
• Ensure adherence to Thai building codes, international standards and Jacobs’ quality management processes; implement project monitoring, reporting and risk management practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license with the Council of Engineers Thailand or eligibility to obtain.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering with strong focus on data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Proven experience in design and construction-phase support including site inspections and commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of Thai codes and international standards and familiarity with sustainability and green building practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
