Team Manager - Import Export

About the Role

The Import & Export Manager is responsible for leading and executing end to end import and export operations across Minor Food, Minor Hotel and Minor Lifestyle businesses. The role requires a strong, agile professional with deep expertise in global freight, customs compliance, and regulatory requirements, ensuring that all shipments are executed accurately, efficiently, and risk free. This position manages a small team and partners closely with internal Supply Chain functions, suppliers, logistics service providers, and government authorities to ensure smooth operations and full compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all import and export processes covering food, beverages, hotel items, lifestyle products, and related categories; ensure 100% accuracy in import and export entries to avoid penalties and secure clean post-audit outcomes; handle operational issues including exception cases, shipment delays, document gaps, and customs holds.
• Manage and validate essential documentation: invoices, packing lists, permits, certificates, HS classification, and Incoterms application; provide expertise on freight modes & terms (FCL, LCL, air freight, cross-border) and optimize cost, lead time, and service performance.
• Ensure full compliance with Thai and international trade regulations; coordinate and maintain strong working relationships with key authorities (Thai FDA, Department of Livestock Development, TISI, Department of Foreign Trade, Customs Department); monitor regulatory changes, interpret requirements, and translate them into actionable guidance; proactively manage risks related to product classification, controlled goods, licensing, and documentation accuracy.
• Oversee performance of freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics service providers; ensure 3PLs deliver timely clearance, correct documentation, and compliance with Minor standards; drive continuous improvement on cost, service level, accuracy, and process discipline.
• Work closely with Procurement, Inventory, Planning, QA, and Business Units to ensure shipment readiness and smooth product flow; provide proactive advisory on import feasibility, regulatory assessment, lead time expectations, and shipment planning; troubleshoot issues and propose solutions that balance compliance, cost, and business continuity.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3 Import–Export professionals; set clear priorities, develop competencies, drive a high-performance accountable culture, act as escalation point and ensure knowledge transfer within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related fields.
• Minimum 7–10 years experience in import–export operations with strong regulatory and freight knowledge.
• Excellent understanding of Thai import–export regulations and customs laws; FDA, Livestock, TISI, and DFT requirements; HS Code classification and Incoterms; FCL, LCL, air/sea freight and carrier management.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and authorities.
• Experience managing teams and working cross-functionally.
• Strong English communication skills (written & verbal).
• High attention to detail with a track record of error-free customs entries.
