Net Zero Strategy Specialist

About the Role

Be a part of the SCBX mothership's journey to Net Zero by 2050. The Net Zero Strategy Specialist will lead the Group-wide net zero strategy, framework and policies to align subsidiaries, portfolios and financed emissions with credible international standards. The role requires experience in net zero transition planning, climate finance and the banking/financial services sector, with the ability to engage and influence at Board and senior management level.

Responsibilities

• Advise on net zero strategy and framework for SCBX Group to achieve net zero in financed emissions by 2050, in alignment with credible standards, business strategy, goals and local context
• Advise on transition of business model, operating model and value chain of SCBX to support implementation of the net zero strategy
• Recommend climate finance approaches for SCBX investments and subsidiaries' products and services to align portfolios with the strategy
• Advise on KPIs and KRIs for the net zero strategy
• Define key policies and procedures to support the net zero strategy, including but not limited to credit policy, portfolio management and operations
• Advise on engagement strategy to support SCBX net zero commitments and stakeholder outreach
• Advise on offset strategy and SCBX's position on carbon credits
• Provide analytical net zero intelligence to inform strategy and decision-making

Qualifications

• Senior level with 10–15 years of experience
• Proven experience in net zero strategy / transition plan development and implementation in a large financial institution is a priority
• Experience or strong understanding of banking business and the financial sector is a priority
• Experience presenting to and engaging with senior management and Board members is an advantage
• Background as an international sustainability consultant is an advantage
• Experience or knowledge of power, oil & gas and other hard-to-abate sectors is an advantage
• Understanding of climate adaptation and sustainable finance is an advantage
• Experience in business or financial institutions in Asia / Thailand is an advantage
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and communication skills; an established network in net zero and transition planning is desirable
