LCL Manager, Ocean Freight

About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic and results-driven Ocean Freight LCL Manager to drive our Less-than-Container Load (LCL) product development and execution in Thailand. This role offers full P&L responsibility and the chance to shape the future of ocean freight through growth, operational excellence and exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Full LCL P&L ownership to deliver budgeted EBIT and volume targets for LCL and Buyer’s Consolidation.
• Monitor productivity of the LCL product, adjust resource allocation, and drive GSC offshoring and/or automation of tasks.
• Develop strategy and implementation plans, measures and budgets to achieve operational results driving profitability, volume growth and service expansion.
• Drive LCL volume development on focus tradelanes in collaboration with Growth, Sales, RDM and overseas counterparts, focusing on SME business decided locally.
• Conduct market and competitor research and analysis to identify market opportunities and challenges.
• Design and implement new products within country and provide input on solution design and service elements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Lead development of new export and import own LCL consol box services in cooperation with overseas counterparts, Growth, Sales and product management.
• Define and implement pricing strategies, analyze yield performance, ensure completeness and monitor hit rates of LCL pricing in MTS, and provide pricing guidance for bids, RFQs and customer presentations.
• Oversee national LCL gateway operations, coordinate consol-level activities, optimize utilization of DGF LCL consol boxes, reduce lead times, and ensure compliance with international and local regulations.
• Ensure services adhere to DGF Global LCL Routing Policy and are reflected in the DGF LCL Routing Guide, including preferred routes, frequency, movement and transit times.
• Monitor preferred carrier/co-loader usage and ensure adherence to the Routing Guide.
• Support end-to-end strategy in close collaboration with Head of Ocean Freight and Regional LCL Pricing & Network Development Director.
• Implement, monitor and enforce service and quality standards at station level and identify and implement improvement measures.
• Drive buying improvements (CFS costs, ocean freight rates, LTL trucking rates) in cooperation with product management per corporate policy.
• Manage supplier performance (co-loader, ocean carrier, CFS, trucking) through regular reviews and propose solutions to improve performance.
• Support resolution of recurring customer issues and incidents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in freight forwarding, with strong preference for ocean freight experience.
• Proven leader with a successful track record.
• Experience with CargoWise (CW1) is an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels, including management.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify network optimization opportunities and challenge country bid input.
• In-depth knowledge of LCL operations, pricing strategies, and RFQ processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, strategic planning, and relationship-building skills.
