Principal Engineer, Tooling Development Engineering

Responsibilities

• Project management / lead / coordinator for vendor outsourced projects.
• Tooling lead / coordinator and schedule owner for NPL (New Product Launch) & tooling development projects.
• Support DFM studies, QFD, TCTF, FEA and Simulation, DOE, engineering analysis (tolerance studies, GR&R, engineering calculations).
• Prepare WEDR reviews – TDRD, FMEA, concept review, final design.
• Prepare & maintain tooling documentation – design review, technical drawings & schematics, BOM, spare parts, setup, preventive maintenance.
• Manage databases – eTRF, ePDM, AME design rules, tooling conversion costs.
• Capital preparation: NPL and prototype development budget estimates, ROI calculations, CRB justification, support MPS replication planning.
• Manage tool logistics / shipments, and related resources.
• Manage R&D & NPL budget & procurement (budget forecast, spending control & monitoring, PR justifications, vendor selection & asset transfers).
• Serve as SME in HDA/HSA assembly technologies: vision systems, screw driving, pick & place, AGV, screw auto feed, auto Dycem, measurement devices, control systems, and act as qualified SEMI S2 internal auditor.
• Provide guidance to local vendors to improve services and capabilities to meet factory demands.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required: Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Above 7 years working experience in related professional areas.
• Preferred: Proficiency using SolidWorks or other CAD software.
• Experience with FEA simulation software.
• Ability to design control systems for automated machines.

Skills

• Experience in automation equipment.
• Proficient in standard business application software, tools & engineering methods (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Good command of English and strong communication skills in an international and multicultural team.
• Ability to troubleshoot and analyze problems, multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail, creativity and innovation.
