Purchasing Agent (Buyer)

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager – Order Fulfillment, Supply Chain & Logistics, the Purchasing Agent is responsible for end-to-end procurement of direct and indirect materials — chemicals, instrument components, packaging, MRO, and services — supporting Hach Thailand's manufacturing Distribution Center operations. The role establishes and maintains strategic sourcing relationships with emphasis on quality, delivery, and total cost, negotiates supplier contracts, and owns the purchase-order lifecycle within Oracle ERP.

The Purchasing Agent partners closely with Planning, Production, Quality, EHS, Import-Export, Finance, and Engineering to ensure uninterrupted supply and supports compliance with Thai Free Zone and hazardous-goods requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage suppliers to ensure smooth, on-time material supply
• Negotiate pricing and contracts to drive cost savings
• Handle purchase orders, pricing, and supplier data in ERP systems
• Track supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (Planning, Production, Engineering)
• Support new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with import/export and quality standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
• 3–5 years’ experience in purchasing/sourcing (manufacturing preferred)
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle is a plus)
• Good communication skills in Thai & English

Nice to Have

• Experience with chemicals, instrumentation, or regulated materials
• Knowledge of Free Zone / import-export processes
• Advanced Excel or data analysis skills
• Exposure to Lean, Kaizen, or ISO standards
