Head of Accounting

About the Role

A multi-sector MNC is looking for a Head of Accounting, based out of Thailand and reporting directly to the Group Chief Accounting Officer. The role is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, month-end reporting, statutory audited report and internal controls of the companies, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with applicable accounting standards (TFRS) and supporting the manufacturing business through strong accounting and taxation insights.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the monthly and annual closing processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and review financial statements (standalone and consolidation package) in compliance with TFRS.
• Perform account reconciliations for Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss and review key accounting judgments and journal entries.
• Coordinate with external auditors and internal audit teams to ensure reports are completed and filed within timelines.
• Establish and maintain robust internal control frameworks and ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Identify and mitigate financial reporting risks.
• Lead and manage the accounting team across functions (GL, AP, AR, Tax, Cashiers); develop team capabilities, structure, and succession plans.
• Drive process standardization, automation and continuous improvement; oversee ERP systems related to accounting and support system implementation and transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Admin and Finance teams to provide financial insights supporting operational and strategic decision-making, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting field.
• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a Manager role.
• Strong experience in taxation and free zone regulation.
• Strong experience in trading/retail environment (required).
• Proven experience in leading and managing teams.
• Fair skills in English communications.
