Assistant Merchandise Manager - Home care (Laundry and Home Cleaning)

About the Role

Responsible for planning and selecting a range of Commercial Home Care Products (Laundry and Home Cleaning) to sell, setting sales and other income plans, managing budgets and supplier relationships, forecasting and reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, and training junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan and select product range for Commercial Home Care category.
• Set up plans to achieve sales targets and other income.
• Manage and control budget allocation for each supplier.
• Assess customer demand, including price, quality and availability.
• Capture, analyze and predict future market trends; adapt to changes in demand.
• Implement and ensure compliance with store policy.
• Evaluate company financial budgets and policies for Commercial Home Care products.
• Maximize profits at competitive prices via benchmarking with rivals.
• Ensure product quality meets or exceeds benchmarks and pricing aligns with brand positioning.
• Understand seasonality, popularity and product lifecycle.
• Regularly review performance indicators such as sales and discount levels.
• Manage stock level planning and react to changes in demand and logistics.
• Meet suppliers, negotiate contract terms, maintain relationships and source new suppliers.
• Participate in promotional activities and understand customer needs.
• Write reports, forecast sales levels and present findings to the Senior Commercial Manager.
• Train and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, International Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in sourcing or buyer role in Home Care category (Laundry or Home Cleaning products).
• Team leader with sound leadership skills and ability to lead a merchandising team.
• Strong negotiation skills and good sense of merchandising and commercial strategies.
• Initiative, proactive, positive thinking and can-do attitude.
• Ability to multitask, respond quickly and work under pressure.
• Result- and detail-oriented.
• Good command of English.
• Excellent computer skills, especially MS Office.
