About the Role

Reports to: Technical Sales Support Manager. Based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. This senior role contributes to Process Automation Energy Industries Business – Hub Asia Region, developing technical proposals and supporting sales in industrial automation and control systems for Power & Water, Oil & Gas, Energy Transition and New Energy segments.

Responsibilities

• Offer technical advice and support during early engagement, conceptual studies, FEED and inquiry specifications for customers and Account Managers for integrated solutions in Power, Water, Oil & Gas, Chemicals and LNG segments.
• Collaborate with other Technical Sales Support domains (Electrical, Telco, Digital) and extended stakeholders (Project, Engineering, Product, Leadership) to prepare well-documented bids and proposals, ensuring risk review processes, assessments and approvals are adhered to and documented.
• Provide technical support during technical meetings, product presentations and negotiations.
• Formulate competitive proposals, selecting optimal solution/product mix for each opportunity, ensuring timely submissions with full and accurate costing and compliance matrices.
• Develop control, automation and digital solution proposals by translating customer process needs into control system architectures (DCS/PLC/SCADA/SIS), integrating electrical, automation and digital layers, and ensuring compliance with IEC/IEEE/API/ISO and segment-specific codes.
• Support the tendering cycle by preparing technical proposals, compliance matrices, solution descriptions and value-engineered alternatives aligned with industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation or related field.
• 11–15 years of experience in automation and control systems across industrial and energy sectors.
• More than 8 years' experience coordinating and delivering complex bids & proposals, including large multi-discipline tenders.
• Extensive exposure to Power Generation, LNG Regasification, Water and Wastewater, and experience in retrofit/modernization projects.
• Demonstrated resourcefulness and effective problem-solving in challenging tender environments.
• International, cross-BU and cross-division experience; able to operate effectively in multicultural settings.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in local language.
• Collaborative, organized, highly motivated, and able to work within tight deadlines.
