Yara is the world's largest producer of ammonia, nitrates and NPKs, offering solutions for sustainable agriculture respecting the environment. Our fertilizers and our crop nutrition programs were designed to help the sector of food production and to meet the needs of a growing world population. Our products and solutions help industry reduce emissions, improve air quality and prioritize effective operations safely. Yara Africa & Asia (YAA) produces, sells, distributes and markets fertilizers and industrial products across Asia Pacific and Africa regions, with offices location and operational units in 20 countries. The region employs over 1800 employees and has a long history in the Asian Pacific and African markets, focusing on develop crop nutrition concepts that increase food production and create value to the growers, in particular smallholder farmers, whilst minimizing environmental impact of agricultural activities. YAA is currently undergoing a major transformation, aimed at shifting the existing business models, generating new revenue streams and ultimately delivering profit through new Farming Solutions related activities.

Responsibilities

• Leading high-impact analytical and business intelligence projects that directly influence executive deci-sion-making and organizational strategy
• Serving as the subject matter expert in advanced analytics and business intelligence methodologies, driv-ing innovation in analytical and reporting approaches
• Establish best practices, analytical standards, and strict data accuracy protocols across analytics and BI delivery, acting as the primary liaison between data capabilities and business leadership to ensure com-mercial teams have highly reliable data for strategic initiatives.

Strategic Problem Definition & Analysis Leadership

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and interpret data from various sources, both internal and external, across paid/ owned/ earned channels
• Lead the definition and refinement of complex business problems from a technical and strategic data perspective, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and long-term strategic objectives
• Conduct comprehensive stakeholder analysis to understand underlying business needs and translate them into sophisticated analytical and business intelligence frameworks
• Proactively define project workstreams and delivery data-driven solutions around market intelligence and performance topics

Technical Implementation & Development

• Act primarily as an individual contributor, delivering data analysis, requirements, and solutions (SQL, Python, Metabase, Power BI, etc.) while maintaining world-class technical standards and advancing analytics and business intelligence practices

Stakeholder Management & Strategic Alignment

• Build strong relationships with executive stakeholders, drive alignment of business requirements with executive stakeholders, define advanced metrics and deliver comprehensive analytics and business intelligence solutions (e.g., dashboards, reports, predictive insights)
• Collaborate with DVCS YAA Data and Tech teams to define requirements for analytics and business intelligence tools and infrastructure
• Clearly communicate business requirements, insights, and expected impacts to stakeholders

Technical Excellence & Data Infrastructure Leadership

• Perform and track complex data extraction, data cleaning, and advanced transformations independently, often designing and implementing robust data pipelines
• Produce sophisticated dashboards, reports, and analytics independently.
• Proactively understand, ensure, and govern data quality across various datasets.
• Troubleshot complex data quality issues, identifying root causes and proposing robust, scalable improvement suggestions.
• Define problems and propose effective solutions based on data and stakeholder inputs

Leadership and Advocacy

• Establish performance standards and quality metrics for analytical work across YTH
• Lead training initiatives and knowledge sharing sessions to elevate the analytical capabilities of YTH
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in BI and analytics to ensure YTH remains competitive

Profile

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Sci-ence, Economics) or a closely related field. A Master's degree is a bonus.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in a similar quantitative, analytical role, demonstrating in-creasing responsibility and complexity of projects.
• Advanced coursework or professional development in statistics, machine learning, business intelli-gence, or related analytical disciplines
• Proven track record of leading high-impact analytical projects that have influenced strategic business decisions
• Proactively identify, thoroughly troubleshoot, and independently provide robust and scalable solutions to complex data quality issues across diverse datasets.
• Proven ability to resolve data conflicts and discrepancies that impact multiple business units
• Expert in performing advanced Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), identifying patterns, anomalies, and correlations, and translating these into actionable business insights.
• Advanced expertise in statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and machine learning applications for business problems
