IND Operation Manager

About the Role

The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and optimizing all operational activities related to industrial inspection, testing, and certification services. This role ensures delivery of high-quality services to clients in oil & gas, power, infrastructure, and manufacturing sectors while maintaining compliance with Bureau Veritas standards and applicable international regulations (e.g., ISO/IEC 17020, ISO 9001). The position drives operational efficiency, profitability, customer satisfaction and leads multidisciplinary teams across multiple project sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of inspection and industrial service projects (onshore & offshore).
• Plan and allocate resources (inspectors, engineers, equipment) to ensure efficient project execution and optimize resource utilization.
• Monitor project performance (cost, schedule, quality) and ensure timely delivery; track KPIs such as utilization rate, project margin, on-time delivery and client satisfaction.
• Oversee mobilization and demobilization of manpower across multiple locations, including international assignments.
• Ensure adherence to contractual requirements and client specifications; handle client feedback, complaints and corrective actions.
• Ensure all inspection and certification activities comply with ISO/IEC 17020, relevant codes and standards (API, ASME, AWS, IEC, DOT, etc.) and local regulatory requirements (e.g., DIW / DOEB Thailand).
• Review and approve inspection procedures, ITPs, and technical reports; maintain technical integrity and consistency across projects.
• Support accreditation audits and internal quality audits (ISO 9000 and ISO 17020).
• Lead, supervise and develop a team of Inspection Engineers, NDT Personnel, Project Coordinators and Field Inspectors; conduct performance management, coaching and training programs.
• Ensure competency and certification of personnel (e.g., ASNT, PCN, lifting certification).
• Promote a strong culture of safety, quality and ethical behavior; ensure implementation of HSE policies including risk assessments, toolbox talks and safety walks; investigate incidents and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Act as the main operational focal point for key clients and support business development by reviewing technical proposals, providing operational costing inputs and participating in client meetings and tender clarifications.
• Monitor operational budgets, revenue and margins; identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements.
• Frequent travel to fabrication yards, client and BV sites in Thailand and abroad.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Civil or related field); Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in industrial inspection, oil & gas, power or related sector, with at least 5 years in a managerial/leadership role.
• Strong experience in third-party inspection services, NDT operations, lifting inspection / fabrication QA/QC and EPC project environments.
• Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17020 and international standards (API, ASME, IEC, ISO); familiarity with accreditation bodies and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven experience with offshore and onshore project execution.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure; strong problem-solving and strategic thinking.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); Thai language proficiency is required.

• Direct reports: Project Managers, Senior Inspectors, Coordinators, Branch Manager.
• Work arrangement: Office-based with frequent travel to project sites in Thailand and internationally.
