Medicine Specialist (Fluent in Japanese) - Freelance AI Trainer Project

About the Role

Meridial Marketplace is hiring medicine specialists to help train large language models for scientific and clinical use. You will apply your clinical expertise to evaluate model outputs, document errors, and recommend improvements so models can support education, research, and clinical workflows. This is a contract, remote role. Job title: Master - Medicine Specialist (Fluent in Japanese) – AI Trainer. Seniority level: Mid-Senior.

Responsibilities

• Engage in conversations with language models on clinical scenarios and theoretical medical questions.
• Challenge models on topics such as differential diagnosis, drug interactions, treatment protocols, pathophysiology, clinical trial design, public health interventions, and diagnostic imaging interpretation.
• Verify factual accuracy and logical soundness of model responses and document failures and edge cases.
• Capture reproducible error traces and provide clear examples of model failure modes.
• Suggest improvements to prompt engineering, evaluation metrics, and model reasoning based on findings.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD, DO) or a master's/PhD in a health sciences field is ideal.
• Clinical experience, peer-reviewed publications, hospital-based practice, or involvement in public health projects preferred.
• Expertise in areas such as internal medicine, pharmacology, pathology, clinical diagnostics, medical ethics, human physiology, epidemiology, immunology, and evidence-based medicine.
• Fluency in Japanese is required.
• Clear, metacognitive communication—able to "show your work" and explain clinical reasoning—is essential.

Compensation & Other

• Pay range: $8 to $65 per hour; exact rate determined by experience, expertise, and geographic location.
• Contractor must supply a secure computer and high-speed internet.
