Researcher (Polymer Characterization) - TPE, Chemicals Business (Contract)

About the Role

This Contract position at SCG seeks a highly skilled Researcher to lead R&D efforts in polymer microstructure characterization for the TPE, Chemicals Business. The role focuses on advancing polyolefin technology and new product development through fundamental and advanced separation and spectroscopy techniques. Onsite work; willingness to work in Rayong required.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate robust analytical methods using advanced separation and spectroscopy techniques to elucidate complex polyolefin microstructures and translate findings into actionable insights for product design and processing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to establish structure-property relationships that guide high-performance polyolefin development and provide technical consultation for failure investigations, competitor benchmarking, and customer support.
• Monitor scientific trends, foster external collaborations, and scout/implement cutting-edge analytical technologies to continuously improve lab speed, accuracy, and analytical depth.
• Lead the microstructure characterization laboratory by supervising and mentoring staff, managing the full lifecycle of analytical instrumentation, ensuring high safety and data standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Postdoctoral Degree in Polymer Science, Analytical Science, Polymer Physics, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum GPA of 2.70 for undergraduate and 3.30 for postgraduate studies.
• Strong command of English (TOEIC score 700 or above).
• Proven ability to design, conduct, and analyze research experiments, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative research mindset with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to work in Rayong.
