About the Role
Act as technical expert for End-to-End automation solutions of Industry 4.0 / smart factory for equipment automation, material handling automation, equipment-process-automation, robotic systems, WIP automation and system integration in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. Lead concept-to-handover delivery, rollout, sustainment and optimisation of automation solutions to meet committed KPIs (UPH, OEE, MTBF, incident rate, harvesting, etc.). Responsible for documentation, procedure definition, testing and training.
Responsibilities
- Work with cross-function teams to gather requirements, align stakeholders, translate requirements to technical specs and perform concept studies with business case and feasibility analysis.
- Lead and support feasibility studies and Proof of Concept (POC) with internal and external teams, develop Equipment Purchasing Specifications, balance opportunity and risk, and drive implementation to create value through innovation.
- Lead and drive automation partners and internal teams for hardware and software solutions: function & feature definition, control architecture, interface definition & design (including SECS/GEM200/300), sequence diagrams for Auto Load/Unload and Load & Go; integration with existing and new equipment, AOI, control layers and material handling systems.
- Responsible for automation setup, trial run, testing, buyoff, change management, continual improvement, documentation, training of operations and incident management with internal and external teams.
- Support maintenance, troubleshooting and continual improvement of automation solutions.
- Study, develop and demo new technologies/solutions, drive design standardisation and define approach & guidance with I4.0 design team.
- Lead and support site automation roadmap and blueprints; provide guidance and training to site automation teams for study, implementation and sustainment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.
- Experience in semiconductor or customised automation manufacturing environments.
- >5 years’ experience in customised automatic solution development (e.g., new automatic equipment, auto load/unload, material handling systems such as auto storage, e-Rack, conveyor, Robot/Cobot end effector) with 2D/3D design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor), or >5 years’ experience with application development and database management (MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle, MongoDB).
- >3 years team leading experience.
- Proven experience with automatic solutions such as Cobot/Robot, AGV/AMR, humanoid robots, automated conveyors, auto storage and auto Load/Unload systems.
- Experience integrating with low-level controllers (PLC, PC), Cell Control Layer, Machine Control System for process equipment, material handling and robotic systems.
- Experience with SECS/GEM200/300 communication protocols and other industry communication protocols.
- Responsibility for documentation, procedure definition, testing and training.
