Payment Product Manager (Clearing & Settlement)

Responsibilities

• Own product design and iteration for the payment middle platform, order system, and clearing module serving Europe and Latin America as the main product lead for core payment infrastructure.
• Drive product roadmap and execution for the global fiat payment platform with focus on backend capabilities.
• Design full lifecycle order management: order creation, status transitions, timeout handling, and reconciliation closed loop.
• Design clearing system: T+0/T+1 settlement schemes, multi-currency reconciliation rules, error handling, and fund verification.
• Recommend integration strategy for global payment channels (PSPs, bank rails, local payment methods) and establish scalable standardized integration frameworks.
• Build and optimize core system modules including transaction lifecycle management, success rate optimization, latency reduction, and failure handling.
• Partner with engineering, risk, compliance, and finance teams to design robust settlement, reconciliation, and fund flow systems.
• Drive platform-level improvements for global scalability, including multi-region architecture, localization frameworks, and system abstraction.
• Define and monitor key system metrics (success rate, latency, reliability) and drive continuous optimization through data and experimentation.
• Collaborate with internal product teams (wallet, account, growth infrastructure) to ensure seamless integration of payment capabilities across the ecosystem.
• Act as a strong individual contributor: identify system gaps and drive end-to-end execution in a complex environment.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of product management experience, preferably in payments, fintech, or platform/infrastructure products.
• Strong experience in payment systems: payment orchestration, transaction platforms, or cashier/back-end payment systems.
• Deep understanding of payment lifecycle: routing, retries, success rate optimization, and failure handling.
• Familiarity with backend system design and APIs; comfortable working closely with engineering on system architecture.
• Strong analytical and data-driven mindset; experience using metrics to guide product decisions.
• Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects in a global or multi-region environment.
• Strong ownership, structured thinking, and ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with global payment methods and bank rails (e.g., ACH, SEPA, FPS, PIX, UPI) or large-scale PSP integrations.
• Understanding of settlement, reconciliation, ledger systems, or fund flow design; familiar with gross/net settlement models and T+N clearing cycles.
• Experience in transaction platforms, wallet systems, payment infrastructure, high-throughput and high-reliability backend systems.
• Exposure to Web3 / crypto / exchange products or strong interest in the space.
