The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing quality goods and services at acceptable prices to meet the organisation's needs. This role manages vendor development and a pool of suppliers for raw materials (including chemicals and packing materials) and outsource suppliers for finished goods, drives procurement initiatives and projects, manages supplier relationships and contracts, and supports continuous improvement within the procurement function.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers for raw materials.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure long-term supply reliability and performance.
• Conduct supplier performance reviews based on cost, quality, delivery, and service.
• Lead supplier negotiations on pricing, commercial terms, and contracts.
• Develop and manage dashboards for procurement KPIs and savings tracking.
• Coordinate project timelines, resource alignment, and milestone reporting.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, alternative materials, and supplier optimization.
• Conduct market analysis and track raw material price trends.
• Identify supply risks and develop mitigation strategies (e.g., dual sourcing, BCP).
• Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and documentation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external partners to execute procurement-related projects.
• Support the implementation and optimization of procurement processes and initiatives.
• Monitor the execution of sourcing pipeline and report on project status.
• Analyse operational and procurement data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably in direct materials or manufacturing environments.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Experience in sourcing raw materials for manufacturing industries (e.g., chemicals, packaging) — preferred.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Good command of English (both written and spoken).
