Senior Backend Developer - Node.js (Fully Remote, Worldwide)

Responsibilities

• Develop backend components for Bitfinex services including the main trading application, Lightning Network support and blockchain integrations.
• Design and implement new products and features using agile methodologies to maintain a best-in-class user experience.
• Ensure scalability and low-latency performance of backend services and public APIs as the platform grows.
• Build API services and backend processes following high security principles and standards to protect users.

Qualifications

• Exceptional Node / JavaScript skills.
• Familiar with microservices architecture.
• Experience contributing to or building complex platforms.
• Good experience interacting with databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and a good understanding of security best practices.

Skills

• Experience with blockchain integration.
• Comfortable with high-availability concepts.
• Experience or familiarity with message queues, caches and job queues (e.g., Redis).
• Knowledge of additional languages (Ruby, Rust or C++) is a plus.
