Responsibilities

• Review and assess insurance applications to determine appropriate coverage and premium rates based on medical and lifestyle information
• Collaborate with medical professionals to obtain and interpret relevant health data
• Analyze risk factors and make underwriting decisions in alignment with company policies and industry regulations
• Provide guidance and recommendations to customers and colleagues on underwriting matters
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of underwriting decisions and activities
• Continuously develop knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in medical underwriting

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in medical underwriting or a related field within the insurance industry
• Strong understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and the application of medical and lifestyle information
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions based on data and industry knowledge
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, medical professionals, and internal stakeholders
• Proficiency in using relevant underwriting software and tools
• Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, trends, and best practices
