Junior Sous Chef - Goji Kitchen

About the Role

Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists. Ensure menu items are available, monitor quality and quantity of prepared food, and assist with daily specials.

Responsibilities

• Prepare special meals and substitute items; prepare cold foods.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters; pull food from freezer storage to thaw in refrigerators.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, garnish, and maintain food logs.
• Monitor food quality and quantity; inform Chef of excess items for specials and inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items.
• Communicate assistance needed during busy periods and support service staff.
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating and coaching employees; serve as a role model.
• Follow company safety and security policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
• Maintain clean and professional uniform and personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
• Anticipate and address guests’ service needs; develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
• Physical demands: stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; reach overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping; move/lift/carry/push/pull/place objects up to 25 pounds; perform other reasonable duties as requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree (preferred).
• Related work experience: At least 3 years of related work experience (preferred).
• Supervisory experience: No supervisory experience required.
• License or Certification: None required.
