Project Engineer

About the Job

To initiate, plan, control, and monitor all Project Engineering activities related to production machinery and supporting facilities, to improve equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability, and to develop personnel capabilities and engineering work systems.

• Plan and deliver engineering projects for production machinery, facility upgrades and capital works.
• Manage equipment installation, commissioning and process optimization activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
• Ensure environmental protection, occupational health, safety and hygiene practices; investigate, document and report incidents in line with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and support quality standards and food safety systems according to company policies, customer requirements and applicable regulations.
• Support energy management initiatives and control energy utilization across engineering projects.
• Act as deputy for the Laboratory Manager when required, making decisions on laboratory operations, planning and quality issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechatronics or related field).
• 5–10 years’ experience in Project Engineering, Maintenance Engineering or Engineering Management within manufacturing or food production environments.
• Proven experience managing production machinery projects, facility upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Hands-on exposure to capital projects, equipment installation, commissioning and process optimization.
• Experience working in environments regulated by food safety, quality and occupational safety standards.
• Project management skills with ability to plan, manage and deliver engineering projects effectively.
• Basic to good skills in AutoCAD 2D/3D, SketchUp or similar tools.
• Good communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders at different levels.
• Additional training in Project Management, Safety, Quality Systems or Energy Management is an advantage.
