Commissioning Engineer

This role supports the project team during pre-construction and construction to ensure commissioning and QA/QC standards are applied throughout the project phase. The role is based in Chonburi, Thailand and reports to the Director of Facility Operations with functional oversight from the Director of Commissioning. Overseas travel is required during project execution and the position is onsite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing commissioning plans, test scripts, and schedules
• Participate in system inspections and pre-functional checks
• Support the setup and execution of functional performance testing
• Regular reporting of site progress to the line manager
• Ensure all equipment installed during construction is tested per commissioning specifications and meets MEP design specifications
• Support the commissioning team on-site, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
• Interface with construction, engineering, procurement, and client teams to ensure smooth transition from construction to commissioning and into operations
• Ensure transparency and communication of project delivery timeliness and quality against company design and commissioning standards
• Ensure best practices, continuous improvement, opportunity maximization and risk management processes to safeguard commercial interests
• Provide commissioning schedule oversight during construction phases and manage internal commissioning tracking tools
• Attend commissioning and project meetings
• Champion and implement policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
• 2–3 years+ of relevant professional and project delivery experience in Thailand
• Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, and control systems
• Willingness to travel as needed and to work on-site and during system testing periods (including off-hours when required)
• Strong MS Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint skills
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; detail-oriented and organized; problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to follow instructions, adapt to changing priorities, and take ownership and accountability
• Knowledge of financial aspects of contracting business and program build reporting
• Possibility to transition into a critical facility engineer role in the future
