Staff NodeJS Software Engineer (Remote, Thailand)

About the Role

Type: Full-time Contract
Location: Bangkok, Thailand (Open only to candidates currently residing in Thailand who do not require visa sponsorship)
Working mode: Remote. Occasional collaboration across US and EU time zones may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design system architectures, establish coding standards, and build cohesive cloud-native solutions.
• Develop high-quality Node.js code, optimize performance, and solve complex software integration challenges.
• Build scalable RESTful/microservices architectures and work with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Implement testing, deployment, and thorough documentation for integrated systems.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Engage with multinational clients and adapt to different time zones as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional Software Engineering experience, with at least 3+ years of dedicated Node.js experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in Node.js and related technologies.
• Proven experience building scalable RESTful/microservices architectures.
• Proficiency with both relational and NoSQL databases; hands-on experience with MongoDB for data modeling and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, EC2) and designing cloud-native solutions.
• Experience using Redis to improve system throughput and handle complex system-level updates.
• Ability to design and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in unit/integration testing (Mocha, Chai, Jest) and TDD practices.
• Expertise with Linux system administration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication for cross-cultural collaboration, and experience mentoring engineers.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Working experience with Python.
• Understanding of authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth2, SAML).
• Experience with MLOps, ML infrastructure, or model training.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude).
• Interest or experience in life sciences.
