About the Role

Position: R&D Assistant (Lubricant Innovation) (Fixed term contractor)
Reports to: Manager, R&D (Lubricant Innovation)

Onsite

Responsibilities

• Independently plan, manage, and carry out bench-scale laboratory experiments to explore new ingredients, formulation techniques, and product formats for novel lubricant technologies.
• Drive physical execution of feasibility tests to evaluate novel raw materials and prototype concepts; prepare raw materials and mix prototype samples according to aligned project plans.
• Evaluate product performance using standardized test methods (e.g. measuring viscosity, pH, osmolality) and other measurement tools or techniques.
• Systematically tabulate and summarize experimental results, conduct statistical analysis, and write comprehensive reports and summary presentation reports to validate findings.
• Maintain accurate and highly detailed laboratory notebooks and sample labelling in a traceable manner in accordance with Quality Systems (GMP/GLP).
• Coordinate and manage business meetings with remote teams and communicate unusual observations, equipment errors, or unexpected test results to stakeholders promptly.
• Support and participate in plant trials or pilot machine trials in coordination with the broader R&D team when required.
• Support QMS systems and procedures (SOP/WI/TM), maintain 5S and EHS activities, report unsafe actions/conditions/near misses, and follow Safety, Health and Environmental procedures including ISO14001 activities.
• Manage laboratory logistics including chemicals control, equipment calibration, waste handling, housekeeping, document control and filing; provide support and training to colleagues as required.
• Protect confidentiality of company information.

Qualifications

• Preferably a bachelor’s or master’s degree in science and technology (chemistry, polymer science, biotechnology, or related fields).
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience (fresh graduates with the right capabilities are also welcome).
• Prior experience in personal care products or medical devices industry, specifically in research, product development, and/or a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Basic understanding of laboratory procedures, safety, health and environment practices, and Quality Systems including ISO 13485.
• Ability to communicate in both Thai and English is required.
• Ability to travel locally and abroad for work is an added advantage.

Skills

• Proven ability to coordinate R&D activities effectively, strong analytical abilities and capacity to plan and organize work.
• Good computer literacy to support daily work functions and ability to perform statistical analysis and produce technical reports.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with cross-functional teams; compatibility with Thai and other cultures.
• Attention to detail, ownership, ability to multitask across a range of topics, and curiosity to learn new areas.
