About the Role

We are seeking a Risk & Safety Consultant focused on LNG and Green Fuels to support energy projects across SEA. You will provide engineering and consultancy services from project development to FEED and basic engineering for LNG-to-Power projects, including feasibility studies, conceptual design, technical due diligence and leading conceptual design for onshore and floating LNG regasification terminals and their interconnection with power plants.

Responsibilities

• Develop Dropped Object Risk Assessment, Failure Risk Scenarios (standalone safety studies), SIMOPS Study, Materials Handling Study, Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA), FMEA, RAM Study, Ship Collision Study Report, Fire Risk Analysis Report, and Dimensioning Accidental Load (DAL) Report
• Independently develop complete QRA using Safeti for LNG terminals, including gas dispersion and FERA studies
• Perform Single Point Failure Analysis, RAM studies, and ALARP assessments
• Conduct Escape, Evacuation and Rescue Analysis (EERA) and Emergency System Survivability Studies (ESSA)
• Execute CFD modelling using tools such as ANSYS FLUENT and FLACS
• Carry out PFDs & P&IDs, review HAZID/HAZOP and SIL assessment studies
• Manage multiple interfaces, prioritise work and multitask across assignments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognised university
• 3 to 6 years of risk & safety engineering/design experience in LNG regasification terminals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Consulting firm experience is an advantage
• AFRY office location: Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur

Skills

• Proficiency with Aspen HYSYS, PHAST 2D, Safeti and Pipenet; CFD tools (ANSYS FLUENT, FLACS)
• Knowledge of industry standards and practices related to process design and safety
• Experience producing QRA, FMEA, RAM, DAL, ship collision and fire risk analysis reports
• Ability to review HAZID/HAZOP and perform SIL assessments
