The Accounting Manager (Tax) at Celestica is responsible for managing all accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance in accordance with Thai regulations, including tax filings and BOI compliance. This role involves close collaboration with shared accounting services and site management to ensure accurate financial records and timely tax filings.

Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing all accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance matters in accordance with Thai Financial Reporting Standards (TFRS) and the regulations set by the Thai Revenue Department (RD), Department of Business Development (DBD) and Board of Investment (BOI). This role will work closely with the Shared Accounting Service and Site Management team to implement and enforce effective financial processes to ensure the accuracy of financial records, timely tax filings, and provide financial support for decision-making. These responsibilities also include performing period end closing and reporting, financial systems and process operations and advisory on the financial process to other operational departments.

Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance and Reporting (Primary Focus) Tax Filing: Prepare, review, and file all mandatory Thai tax returns accurately and on time, including: Value Added Tax (VAT) – PP.30 (and PP.36 for overseas services), Withholding Tax (WHT) – P.N.D. 3, 53, 54 (Corporate Income Tax, Foreign Entities), Mid-year (Corporate Income Tax) – P.N.D. 51 and Annual Corporate Income Tax (CIT) – P.N.D. 50.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Support the Finance Manager in interaction with the Thai Revenue Department and other government agencies for tax audits, inquiries, and resolution of tax related issues. Monitor and interpret changes in Thai tax laws (Corporate Income Tax, VAT, WHT, Land and Building Tax, etc.) and discuss the potential impact. Support the preparation of Transfer Pricing documentation and disclosure forms as required by Thai regulations.
  • BOI Compliance and Management of Financial Segregation: Perform the tax calculations in BOI company by proper identification of P/L and Fixed assets between the BOI promoted activity and non-promoted activities CIT Exemption Management - Tracking the start and end dates of promoted activities and privileged thresholds. BOI Reporting - Prepare and submit mandatory annual performance reports, start-up reports, machinery reports, and production reports to the BOI office on time to maintain the privileges.
  • Accounting, Bookkeeping & Audit Support: Drive the reconciliation and validation of accounting transactions as executed by Shared Services including and review general ledger for Month-End, Quarter, and Year-End Close. Support the Finance Manager in managing the full cycle of financial closing processes. This includes Trial balance review, and respective financial reporting such as preparation of accurate periodical financial statements in compliance with TFRS in-addition with USGAAP for Statutory & Group reporting purposes. Coordinate and manage annual statutory audits with external auditors. Generate various financial reports and analysis (e.g., variance analysis, cost analysis) to support management decision-making.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certification (Highly Preferred): Thai Certified Public Accountant (CPA/CPD/CA) or equivalent professional accounting/tax certification.
  • Experience: Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in a Finance and Tax role in Thailand, with strong knowledge of the Thai tax system.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Thai Financial Reporting Standards (TFRS) and Thai Revenue Code.
  • Language: English/Thai (reading, writing, and speaking) is often mandatory for liaising with government agencies. Good command of English is typically required for multinational companies including mandatory for liaising with government agencies
  • System Proficiency: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and MS office (Word, Excel, PPT).
