Responsibilities

• Supervise plant accounting activities including cost accounting, inventory valuation and fixed assets.
• Manage the end-to-end month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing processes at the plant level, ensuring accuracy and submission within corporate deadlines.
• Analyze production costs and collaborate with plant managers to identify and act on efficiency opportunities.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of plant financials.
• Monitor and control plant-related expenditures.
• Oversee inventory management at the refinery, ensuring accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with internal controls.
• Serve as the primary point of contact and provide support for internal and external audits.
• Collaborate closely with head office to ensure accounting treatments are consistent with Group policies while providing the plant manager with financial insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in plant or manufacturing accounting.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost flow and cost accounting principles.
• Demonstrated ability to travel upcountry as required; this role is based at the head office with frequent travel to operational sites.
• Solid quantitative and qualitative analytical capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
• Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
• Strong background in financial controls and compliance.
