AR Collection Specialist

About the Role

Department: Finance
Location: APAC-Thailand
This position reports to Manager, Finance Thailand and Vietnam. The AR Specialist is responsible for AR management and collection to ensure timely payments by our customers.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer billing and collection activities, including follow-up with past-due accounts and referring collection issues to engagement partners.
• Daily contact with customers based on AR aging list to drive collection problem solving.
• Work closely with commercial team to obtain support and payment commitments from slow-paying customers.
• Comply with the collection process to place customers on pre-credit hold and credit hold appropriately.
• Support cash application of customer payments to ensure timely update of AR aging.
• Liaise with internal counterparts (Customer Service, Sales) on billing, AR issues, invoice adjustments/cancellations and related matters.
• Coordinate with external agents for invoice submission and VAT filing, and with external financing partners for customer credit limit approvals.
• Conduct credit checks and prepare credit management proposals; process customer refunds; comply with legal requirements when legal action is unavoidable.
• Prepare regular AR status reports and deliver ad hoc reports and financial projects as assigned.
• Assist with VAT reconciliation between SAP and local VAT filing, and support internal and external audit requirements and quality management system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• At least 3 years' experience in credit control and AR collections, preferably in an MNC.
• Highly detailed, result oriented, organized, proactive and a good team player.
• Able to engage customers assertively but professionally; strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work longer hours during peak periods when required.

Skills

• Thai speaking and good English (written and spoken).
• Working knowledge of Finance ERP system (SAP).
• Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables).
