Multi-Property Director of Loss Prevention

About the Role

Manages security/loss prevention operations on a daily basis for Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse and Le Meridien Bangkok. Areas of responsibility include protection of property assets, employees and guests, accident and fire prevention and response. Ensures that all areas of the property are safe and secure, maintains logs, certifications and documents required by law and Standard Operating Procedures, and strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing the financial performance of the department.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of emergency procedures and deploy security staff to effectively monitor and protect property assets.
• Conduct investigations of all losses of property assets and refer findings to proper management for disposition; maintain required reports and documentation regarding patrols of property and parking areas.
• Conduct periodic patrols of the entire property and parking areas; identify and recommend measures to minimize physical hazards and unsafe work practices; implement action plans to monitor and control risk.
• Comply with Corporate Loss Prevention safety and security management guidelines and procedures; provide means for obtaining necessary medical attention on a timely basis.
• Attend pre- and post-convention and weekly forecast meetings to understand group needs and communicate critical information to Loss Prevention officers.
• Lead, coach and mentor loss prevention teams: set performance standards, monitor performance, solicit employee feedback, recognize successes, and build mutual trust and cooperation among team members.
• Handle complaints, settle disputes, resolve grievances and conflicts, and administer property policies fairly and consistently.
• Support human resources activities including documentation and reporting of employee accidents and general liability incidents, assisting in claims management, conducting performance appraisals, completing disciplinary procedures, and developing/ delivering training programs.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with local law enforcement authorities and keep executives, peers and subordinates informed of relevant information in a timely manner.
• Provide leadership in guest hospitality, empower employees to provide excellent customer service, and incorporate guest safety and satisfaction into departmental continuous improvement efforts.
• Analyze information and evaluate results to make decisions and solve problems; provide information to supervisors, co-workers and subordinates by telephone, in writing, e-mail or in person.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or 4 years experience in security/loss prevention or a related professional area, OR 2 years experience in security/loss prevention or a related professional area.
• Maintain first aid and CPR certifications required for Loss Prevention officers.
• Experience handling guest problems and complaints and providing personal assistance or medical attention when required.
