GIS & Wind Resource Manager

About the Role

Lead and manage GIS, wind resource, and technical site assessment activities for the company’s renewable energy projects (primarily wind and solar) in Thailand and selected overseas markets. Oversee GIS analysis, site screening, layout optimization, spatial data management, technical support for project development, field verification, and land acquisition support to ensure project readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead GIS analysis, mapping, site screening, and spatial assessment for renewable energy projects.
• Support project area evaluation, constraint analysis, and field verification activities.
• Support wind resource assessment, wind data analysis, and technical feasibility studies.
• Coordinate wind measurement campaigns, energy yield assessment, and technical studies.
• Manage project layouts, micro-siting, WTG positioning, and project optimization activities.
• Coordinate technical readiness and layout discussions with stakeholders, landowners, and Site Development teams.
• Coordinate with Project Development, Business Development, Engineering, and external consultants to support permitting and feasibility.
• Support field verification, site visits, lease signing activities, and land acquisition when required.
• Manage GIS databases, technical reporting, dashboards, and spatial data systems; implement technical standards and workflow improvements.
• Lead team development, provide technical guidance, and perform other duties as assigned, including compliance with company policies, KPIs and ISO systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in GIS, Geoinformatics, Geography, Renewable Energy, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in GIS, wind resource assessment, renewable energy development, or related technical fields.
• Experience in utility-scale wind or solar project development is preferred.
• Strong understanding of GIS analysis, spatial data management, project layout optimization, and technical site assessment.
• Experience supporting wind resource assessment, energy yield analysis, or wind measurement campaigns is preferred (WindPRO, WAsP or similar).
• Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper or related spatial tools is an advantage.
• Experience supporting land acquisition, field operations, and stakeholder engagement is an advantage; ability to work in field environments when required.
• Strong analytical, technical reporting, problem-solving skills, and experience managing technical teams and cross-functional coordination.
