Credit Underwriter, Thailand

About the Role

This position is based in Bangkok, Thailand. Reports To: Head of Risk, Thailand. The ideal candidate would have minimum 3 years of experience in a corporate credit analysis role and would come from a financial services background (banking, asset backed lending, rating agency). This is a client-facing role which requires strong core technical skills, ability to work under pressure, and good communication for meetings/discussions with senior management of clients/prospects in Thailand.

Responsibilities

• Financial assessment of companies
• Decide credit limit requests consistently, within response time included in Risk Business Model
• Assess companies with all information available in Risk database and own market knowledge
• Monitor risk portfolio by requesting further information to Risk office according to Information Quality Standards
• Responsible for a dedicated portfolio of customers; steer and provide a proactive service level according to policy holder classification
• Regular meetings with customers and brokers
• Support Commercial Department in steering customers' loss ratio and implement actions to ensure or restore portfolio profitability
• Prepare sector reviews
• Any other ad hoc tasks assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a financial institution or rating agency as a financial/credit analyst
• Excellent knowledge of the local economic and business environment
• Excellent financial analytical skills
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Presentation skill
• Good command in both spoken and written English
