About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. In this role you will manage all aspects of financial operations and ensure accounting entries are accurate and complete. The role covers AR/AP and GL accounting for entities in Thailand, UK, Vietnam, Estonia and Hong Kong, with exposure to tax and GAAP of these jurisdictions. You will rotate responsibilities within a collaborative accounting team, monitor the general ledger, manage cross-border compliance, mentor a junior Accounting Assistant and report directly to the CFO.
Responsibilities
- Payroll: liaise with other departments to maintain complete and accurate staff financial records; capture, record and process monthly/annual payroll and expense reimbursement information (PND91, TAVI50).
- General Ledger: complete monthly balance sheet reviews and reconciliations; maintain supporting schedules where required; create and post monthly Profit Related Pay (PRP) and payroll journals; liaise with external stakeholders in Thailand to ensure clean audit reports and regulatory compliance.
- Intercompany: create, post and reconcile monthly intercompany invoicing.
- Accounts Receivable: generate accurate, complete and timely invoices across multiple international jurisdictions; ensure correct VAT accounting in the country of issue; identify and follow up on unbilled revenue and unpaid invoices with account managers and suppliers.
- Accounts Payable: prepare weekly payment runs; verify and reconcile incoming bills; manage petty cash security, accountability and availability.
- Tax & Compliance: manage filing of monthly and annual tax returns (PND03, 53, 54, PP30, 36) with the Revenue Department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Qualified accountant with up-to-date CPD.
- Over 3 years' experience in general accounting covering AR, AP, payroll, VAT etc.
- Experience with Thai accounts payable requirements such as Tax Invoices and WHT.
- High-level written/spoken business English skills.
- Self-starter, able to propose solutions and a good team player; highly detail-oriented while able to identify big-picture issues; well organised with ability to meet deadlines; remote working experience beneficial.
- Proficiency in software, particularly Xero and Google Sheets.
Additional Information
- Location: Chiang Mai — onsite, full-time.
- Reporting line: reports directly to the CFO and will mentor a junior Accounting Assistant.
