[Thailand] - Senior Medical Scientific Liaison

Santen Thailand is expanding and we are looking for a talented and passionate Senior Medical Scientific Liaison to join our team in Bangkok. Basing in Bangkok and reporting to the Regional Medical Affairs Manager (based out of Hong Kong), the Senior Medical Science Liaison will serve as a strategic bridge between the clinical community and our internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify, establish, and maintain productive relationships with KOLs, healthcare professionals, and academic institutions within the assigned therapeutic area; gather insights and medical/scientific information to inform medical affairs, commercial strategies and research initiatives.
• Implement and manage Early Access Programs or Compassionate Use Programs with a focus on patient centricity.
• Disseminate up-to-date scientific and medical information to HCPs, KOLs, and internal stakeholders; respond to medical inquiries (including unsolicited off-label inquiries) with evidence-based information.
• Plan and deliver scientific presentations and educational programs for healthcare professionals and internal teams.
• Collaborate with clinical development teams to provide senior-level medical input on study protocols, study design, and data analysis plans; support identification and recruitment of investigators and facilitate communication of study results.
• Contribute to development and execution of medical affairs plans, including medical publications and medical information strategies; work closely with marketing, sales, and regulatory affairs to support product launch and life-cycle management.
• Ensure all activities and interactions adhere to industry regulations, company policies, and compliance guidelines; maintain understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and codes of conduct.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced MSLs, fostering a collaborative team environment and encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant life sciences field (e.g., MD, PharmD, MPH, PhD).
• Significant experience (>5 years) in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, clinical practice, or academia, preferably within ophthalmology.
• Proven leadership and mentorship skills with ability to guide and develop junior team members.
• Exceptional scientific acumen and ability to understand and interpret complex clinical data.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated success in building and maintaining influential relationships with external stakeholders.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory guidelines and compliance requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Fluent English, spoken & written.
